INVITE JOY TO SPEAK
From the time Joy was little, she dreamed of speaking on a stage. The lies that she came to believe made that dream seem impossible, until the light of God broke through. Joy saw God’s glory in her deepest wound and it dazzled her. This led her to discover her true identity where a calling was placed on her life to co-found Wings of Refuge, a ministry for women recovering from sex trafficking. She has been named the Outstanding Woman in Corrections by the Iowa Corrections Association, and received The Anti-Trafficking Service Award from Governor Kim Reynolds. Joy is a passion-filled visionary with a bold testimony of And So Somehow resurrection that encourages and mobilizes others to receive their God-given identity. She is passionate to engage with God’s light that brings people out of darkness and isolation and into loving connection with Him, their own hearts, and others. When she is not speaking, you can find her empty nesting at home on Little Wall Lake in Jewell, Iowa, with her husband Aaron, and their dog, Finn. Joy’s greatest joys are Jesus and family. She adores relationships, coffee, traveling, and interior design.
